Best pairing outcome?

I just purchased 2 males to be paired with 2 of my hens.
One male is a dilute, the other a yellowback.
My two hens are both reg greenbacks, but have different head and chest colors.
Does it matter which birds I pair or does it not make a difference?

Do you know if any of these bird are split for anything? Maybe someone with genetic sense can help out of go play on the gouldian color forcaster

I have no idea about the hens. The yellow male is a single factor yellow/single factor green. It's the same with the dilute. I don't know anything further.

This is not possible.

Your yellow male is PB and the only way a male can be yellow + purple breast is if he is double factor for yellow.

So honestly - without knowing the genetics of the birds it doesn't really matter who you pair to whom.

Both birds will throw yellow hens and dilute males - the only difference will be the percentage of who throws what.

Also, since both males are RH - without knowing any splits, it's also safe to just assume all birds (babies) will be visually RH.

I'd be tempted to put the DF yellow male with the white breasted hen. More possibilities with this pairing if the cock happens to be split for white breast or only SF red head.

I was also going to say your yellow male is double factor because his body is yellow and the ring around his head and under his chin is white and with a purple chest he must be DF yellow.

Thanks! Okay, well maybe the breeder made a wrong assumption. I know she periodically puts some of her birds into her flight and they breed there as well. Thanks for the input and kind words!
