We would like to have a pair of Zebras in a cage. Previously, we've had lovebirds and been advised that if you don't want to breed then you should have all males, at least in the lovebird world.
In our local pet shop they strongly suggested we must get a mixed sex pair of Zebras for the birds to be happy.
Yes we want happy birds, but we would prefer not to have a breeding pair.
Is it possible to keep same sex pairs on Zebras in a cage?
Thank you

Yes it is fine to have all male zebras in a cage, as well as it being the only way to guarantee no eggs.

Re: Zebras - same sex in a cage
Its absolutely no problem, I once had five males in a big cage and they got on great.
In my aviary there are not enough females to go round, so the spare males roost in same sex pairs for safety.

Re: Zebras - same sex in a cage
I have my males separated from my females.
The males (and females) will pair up, so they will have a "buddy."
Just watch them. I have some that are just like kids, they just keep on squabling. In one problem pair are 2 brothers that always seem to be chasing or fighting each other and other birds. So if they just don't get along and figure out their place in the pecking order, you may have to separate them.
A large cage will reduce fighting caused by lack of enough personal space.
Check the FIC, I think there is an article about reducing aggression in the cage.
