with my avairys the roof arnt fully covered and my birds fine. but if you wantyou could use the poly carbonate sheeting that mickp suggested or perspex . but i do think it is better to have some of the roof exposed.

I want one! I want one! Boy, I've got a big case of the 'gimmies'.. if it's not the finches..it's the unique avairies :mrgreen:

if I was allowed (by she who must be obeyed) my whole back yard would be aviaries. one day I plan to live on a 5 acre block, wonder how many aviaries I could fit on that :roll: :shock: :D

I have an "open to the weather" section of my aviary (which I recently added to) and although my Gouldians have been known to sit out in the hail most "normal" birds go in under shelter when its cold etc. Sometimes they will sit out in the rain for a while though, they seem to love it. I guess its only natural!

Good luck with the extension I'am sure they willl love it!
