Ok, I'm probably weird and really obsess by my little one's but why not?!?
I observe, paint and breed birds since many years and I was always fascinated by their colors, shape and behaviors.
Four years ago, I find a RH PB GB hen(VDM1a) who had really bluer back. I bought her and her father since the lady who sell it didn't want to keep him because he was old and very bad father...that was a RH/OH PB/WB SYF GB/BB cock(Opal)...He was great and two of his sons who was RH PB SF GB was really yellow with kind of bizarre bluer back (as Australian Yellow have...)
So, I took VDM1a and Opal and try to breed them...I got success with VDM1a but sorrily, Opal killed systematically all his young...I died shortly after.
Now, after four generations, I think(if I'm not crazy!

So, what is Opaline Gouldian for me?
Candace inspired me this name because these birds have all colors of opaline gems...including orange and pink!!! The back and wings are really bluer but when you watch feather individually, you see complete palette of colors..really dark then orange-brown, green, blue and finally in some feathers purple or pink...the belly, contrarily to sea green, is light yellow, not as pale as sea green has... and contrarily to Seagreen and Noble Blue who tend to lost the blue color after molting, Opaline's gouldian keep their colors, molt after molt...
The posterior part of the neck is bright green to yellow or base of green feathers is orange-red...
Ok, now, stop talking and just watch photos...!
