Finch Cage

Post by Finchgirl » Thu Jul 28, 2011 4:26 pm

I am hoping to get a pair of zebra finches in the future, but already have a cage for them. The cage is a cylinder shape, and measures 2 feet tall by 16 inches wide. I am hoping that this is an appropriate size, and they will be provided free flight in a safe environment if it is needed :)

I'll jump in quick and say the bigger the cage the better and free flight would be superb as long as your room is birdy-proofed beforehand so they won't hurt themselves by flying into things like windows or mirrors, etc.

Thanks for the information because I was concerned that I would need to purchase a bigger cage or my finches would be unhappy! I will do my best to birdproof the room and allow them free flight once or twice a week!

The problem with free-flight in the room is catching them afterwards.

Ha ha so true Gary!
My more experienced free flight finches fly back to their cage in a little while which is handy :)
