mystery baby

Post by dfcauley » Thu Jul 15, 2010 7:21 pm

There is always something strange going on in a mixed aviary...or at least in mine. But this one has me really baffled.
My cherry finches have raised around 6 babies total. They were again sitting on two eggs. One of them hatched and it was NOT a cherry finch.
Misty thinks it is a society finch, but I am not convinced even though I don't know what else it could be. It is very light skinned almost albino looking. What is even more amazing is how well it is being fed even though it is not one of their own and it is the only one in there. Any guesses on what it could be???

Does it have any down/fluff on it already? I can't tell from the pics. It could well be a Society. You also might be able to match the mouth markings with one on here -

I think the societies realized they were forced to feed a cherry baby, so they returned the favor.
