Is it OK to breed dark eyed white societies together? What about crested to crested?
Thanks, Charlie

I've only heard that 2 crested's should not be bred together. Haven't heard anything about not breeding like colours.

My friend has bred dark eyed white societies together with any problems. The babies have always came out healthy and bigger then the parents. I don't know bout the crests though. I don't have any birds with a crest. He does but i dont think he has a pair of crested societies.
Society Finches, Fire Finches, Strawberry Finches, Owl Finches, Plum Head Finch, Goldbreast Waxbill Finches, Orange Cheek Waxbill Finches, Blue Capped Cordon Finches, Zebra Finches, Bronzewing Mannikin Finches, Red-Cheek Cordon Blue Finches, and Button Quail

I have been told that dark eyed whites from fawn pied/marked white parents are more likely to have eyesight problems than those from chocolate pied/marked white parents. I also was told that breeding crested to crested would still only give you 50% crested. Is that true?
I would like to try to develop crested dark eyed whites and don't want to breed poorly sighted or inferior societies. Anyone with experience on this or suggestions?
