Re: Are these Gouldians?
Just an update, I couldn't resist and bought the two hens and put them in a 3ftLx20"x3ftH flight cage. All are getting along great and loving the space!

Good for you
Feed them lots of eggfood, and they will reward you with beautiful, new, coloured feathers

Mez, the females have bands -- why would a seller band the females and not the males? In my opinion chances are good that they are unrelated.
If you can decipher the information on the bands you may be able to find out then you might want to trade one back for a female so you could have a pair.
Either way, you are a lucky person! They are pretty!!

Ok, at least one of the males has a band on too. How do i decipher the information on the bands? On my Quaker it has initials of the breeder and year he was born, there are different bits of info on it but no date.
About trading them back, so I don't have 2 males and 2 females? Sorry that bit confused me! We only got these 4 at work and now I have them all.
Thanks
James

Re: Are these Gouldians?
Can you take close up pic's of the bands?
There are a ton of people on this forum that have been breding birds for decades and I'm sure they could help decipher them for you.
