Yes, I have and do feed hemp to my birds but not flax anymore because they don't really like it.

I feed my hemp whole and the finches have no problems cracking the seeds open. I have only never seen the tiny Firefinches eating it.

Geez I just checked Bird Supply of NH.
2 pounds is $4.75, but shipping USP to Calif is $10 !!
I gotta find a local or at least closer supplier.

My husband and I regularly eat hulled hemp seeds from Manitoba for breakfast! 2 tbsp stirred in plain yogurt, I eat mine with fruit or honey, but my husband eats his plain. They are very good for you, and give you tons of energy, so much I don't recommend eating them in the evening!

Just got a reply from Herman Brothers.
$12 to ship 2 pounds to CA.

I'll try the local health food stores.

Hey Can, where did you get yours from? Do they come pre-hulled (I hope)?

I think she bought the same as I have Liz. They are hulled and even delicious for us 8)
I found mine in the health fod section at Loblaws, in the same isle as the couscous, hulled millet and flax seeds and nuts.

Sorry for my lateness,

My mother-in-law orders them in bulk from Manitoba (I'm 99% sure). We actually ran out this week and have already throw out the packaging, but I'll find out from her and post the information. I think she gets it for about $9 a container, which is much cheaper than I've seen in health food stores.
They also look different. They're hulled hemp seeds, oily, fluffy and moist, not dry and hard. Highly recommended, I'll do my best to get the info. for you.

Okay. I got the dirt!

It's Rocky Mountain Grain Products from Alberta (not Manitoba).

Here's a link:

I've tried the bars also, and they are very good!
