Green Singer Juvies x 6

Post by L in Ontario » Sun Sep 26, 2010 5:59 pm

This is the result of two clutches that are fully weaned and on their own (with each other) now. Just waiting to see how many boys and how many girls we end up with.

Thanks Janine. The mother laid another egg today but I'm insisting she take a well deserved break for a while now.

I'm sure your GS's will be fine and do you proud this time. I just had to back off and give them plenty of privacy. Mine seem to be a nervous group of fids - even the babies. Took a long time to get them to settle on the perch for the photo-op.

It can't get any better. :D
I'm still waiting for my first chick this season. One egg is fertile and due to hatch in about a week now and I don't need to worry about the picking with webcam.

Thanks ikhom and Candace. I just can't get over how fidgity / nervous the young ones are when I come near. You would think being cage bred, they'd get use to people. But noooo, their parents trained them well! Real well! :|

Gorgeous, Liz!

I wish you could upload us a sound byte of them all singing together -- I had a beautiful green singer when I first bought finches (about 3 years ago) but he died from unknown causes and I was never able to hear him sing.
