Ahh they are very pretty indeed - congratulations Tiffany!! You'll get beautiful babies from them. And as for them being possibly not great parents - they're terrific once they get the hang of it (like some Gouldians). =D> They are a great addition to you aviaries!

Beautiful birds. I have never seen any creams before at the shows. I am trying desperately to
raise some, but the pair I have do not cooperate.
But..... I do have 4 of their fertile eggs being fostered right now. Praying for some of them to be creams. [-o<

Congratulations!!! You will love them! What personalities they have with their little bouncing every time
they land on a perch.

Nice pair! I really like the creams a lot. Especially after seeing Donna's Carmela. I also like the fawn's like Janine's male.

A beautiful pair to add to your home. I have never fancied Shaftails. Sounds like I am missing out.

Oh, Tiff, you will be so pleased with them. I had wanted a pair for a long time, and about 2 months ago, fell into a great buy on 2 pair. I love them. I was not fortunate enough to get any lovely creams, like your hen, but, hopefully, someday I will. Good luck with them. Mine still fascinate me. :)

PS Thanks, the cookies are delicious!!!!!

FINALLY!!!! =D>

Who has Creams in your area?! Donna and I have been looking for unrelated bloodlines with no success.

I still have three that I kept from my original pair (not sexed yet) and the three from Donna's pair (not sexed yet). All the males will be split to cream but any females will just be normal...

Joe Martin - but.. his Cream foundation stock are all from Chihuahua (aren't yours too?) so it would probably be really hard to secure unrelated birds :?

The BirdBazaar person with all the Shafttail genetics is located in Albany NY I believe, but when I contacted him to see if he'd be going to the BOAF show he said he wasn't because he is not showing and has no birds available for sale. Boo. :?

I almost typed Joe but didn't because I thought he just got his or maybe I misunderstood him. I know he put a big order with Chihuahua this year...

Yes - ours are from Chihuahua too. I guess I will have to outcross and then breed back to get new blood in the lines because these are one species I don't want to be without.

I don't know when he got the birds from Chihuahua but if what I have on the birds is correct he must have gotten them last year.
Or at least he had some last year and perhaps got more this year.. not sure..

The cream hen was produced December 2009 and the N/C Male I got would have been one of many produced sometime between January and March of this year.
None of them are close banded so I'm going based on what I was told..

Does Chihuahua close band his birds since they're all fostered anyway?
