Well Silverado fledged today...She is a whopper! I don't know if it is because she was the only chick and they stuffed her constantly or if it is genetics. The pair are on 5 eggs now :D

With this pairing all silvers would be girls. If it is a male then it would be SF pastel, which I guess it could be but it looks very light to me so I was thinking silver hen....what does it look like to you.

My other silver is the same and I think it is a hen also. (in the other silver post)

It's likely a she - I wasn't thinking straight, and should have caught my own blunder when I said pastels have dark beaks.

So do SF Pastel Blue (Silvers).. :?

I was looking back at pics of my WB pastel male and he looked very similar in coloring as yours. The only way I could tell it was a male is when he started singing. I gave him to someone before he colored up but saw him full grown and he was just gorgeous!!! :(

I have another unfinished silver hen here and I know she's a hen because she's never sung also, her purple breast color is very pale.

I'm hoping to have more in the future [-o< I really fell in love with the silvers.

Are you sure she's a loner or did she just eat all of the other chicks? She's huge!

LOL...you are too funny Domenic  No... but did you see the first picture in this post of her? That is how the parents fed her the whole time  She is definately a keeper, should pass this size onto future Can Do chicks :D Most silvers I see tend to be smaller than the greens and yellow mutations. Of course silvers are new to me...but so far I'm loving them :D

You're a funny guy, Domenic!

Candace, she is a beautiful little(?!) hen. Now you have TWO brand new silvers.

I love her name, too. Very appropriate as well because Southwestern looks are all to do about silver and pewter accessories!

I will be interested to see who you pair her with.

Renee,
This hen looks like a hen to me but so does this one in my other post that fledged the same day
"Silica"

I PM the genetic expert  and was told the first one is a hen and this one (2nd one pictured in this post) is a pastel male.
I swear I can't tell them apart...but these are my first silver chicks and have no idea what I am looking at #-o

Thanks Anna, I thought about silver jewelry too :D It will be a year before I set her up to breed...so I am sure I will figure out for sure if she is a she or a he...at least the names I gave to both of the silvers can be masculine or feminine :D
