I don't have the photos on my photobucket site but I can get them later.

SF Pastel Blue males that are WB or LB (so, a WB or LB visually Silver that is "SF Yellow") will have dark beaks while in the nest.

They look almost identical to pastels as hatchlings (minor differences in the nodules and mouth markings though) but where you see the difference is when the pins start coming in white instead of pale grey.

It's the same for PB Dilutes vs WB or LB SF Yellows; DF Yellows and Yellow hens will always have pink beaks, SFs will always be dark :)
And again, PB Dilutes and WB/LB SF Yellows look very similar as hatchlings, but the difference is the pin feather stage.

Okay.... I got it...... I never thought to look at the beak color though I have noticed on the yellows the pink or grey... now I know why.

But are you saying this pastel male will have a white or lilac breast? I know it looks light but then that means these parents are split to WB or LB too. :?

I found a pic of my WB pastel. Tiffany's right about the dark beak.

The silver I have now has a white beak.

He would have to - it's the only way you could get a Silver male :)

Ah, perfect example! I was trying to see if I had any photos of mine but they're all on my computer at home :)
