bad girl-zeb

Post by Athanasia » Wed Sep 26, 2007 5:11 am

ok, i've had this pretty female for three months now and I've noticed whoever is her cagemate(she's had three different ones so far) she will pluck them beyond recognition, and she is a sly thing I rarely catch her red-handed and the others never complain when she pulls a feather here and there. I have her in a separate cage now, she's very young to be in breeding condition so I just think she has a very bad habit, can anything be done to stop her?

You can try giving her things to play with (members here have suggested nesting material or pull toys). If she keeps it up, though, she may just need to be kept separate. Bad girl!

thanks for the replies. I tried both, nesting material and a toy, the males were much more interested in them than she was. I think she must be a real snob, i'm thinking of giving her to my cousin who's been dying for one of my fids, :( I hate to be separated from her but I don't have room for a cage just for her royal highness
