At twenty quid I wouldn't let them bathe...the paint will wash off.

Congrats on getting a pair!
They are a great little bird.
I have an aviary bred male and a
mule, goldfinch x canary cross.

Just be carefull about giving them too much
greens, especially during the winter and non breeding season.

In the summer give them dandelions.
You can give them the whole plant, just make sure
it does not have any pesticides on it.
I always add a little vineger to the water when I was the
dandelions.

Enjoy,

The Bear

What is the problem with too much greens? I thought it was recommended... especially for European Goldfinches. I give mine greens everyday, year-round. Am I doing something wrong? (Romaine/Kale/Collards w/Broccoli/Cabbage/Carrot slaw).  #-o :?:

Thanks for the advice bear :)

Puka, from what i have read,to much greens can cause runny poo, maybe that is what bear is getting at?
At the moment i give all my finches greens every other day

Greenfood causes bacteria to build up in the Goldfinches stomach.
I have goldies that one day are fine, and dead the next.
Now that I have stopped giving them green food outside of breeding season and summer I have not lost any.

Here are some great sites that can help you find mor info about goldies.
