Beautiful Sally They should really thrive in your sunny, warm climate (at least for most of the year).
The white feathers could of been replacement for damaged feathers or something lacking nutritionally. I'm sure her chicks will be perfect
I think that the birds live up to their names. Grenadiers were some tough soldiers...the biggest and the badest

Thanks for more pictures -- I guess Gren's can be pretty wicked to each other based off of what Fardad and others have said. Beautiful birds, though and very interesting.

I had three of them in my aviary for a while and never noticed ANY agression even when they had a nest and eggs.

I think the problem is when they don't have enough space.......
Then again I could have had a gentle group....

Donna - I really think the group you had from me was a gentle group. But the hen came back here only to pluck her male bald on the back of his neck and head!!!! No blood no redness just no feathers! Happened over night.

Sally - the hen that you picked up from me (from Greg) was not with any other bird since her arrival at my home. And, honestly I don't remember her missing that many feathers when I put her in the cage. So perhaps stress alone brought on some feather loss but in her case she was not plucked by another bird. The white feathers of course were there when she arrived.

Perhaps it was from the stress of being moved from the aviary to a cage while they were wanting to breed.

IDK - but they have already built a nest and I saw the hen in there yesterday and today when I got home.
