Re: Feeder with catch tray
That feeder looks like a really nice one. I looks like it work in the same way as this one: http://www.redbirdproducts.com/seed%20hopper.jpg
I use these in every cage, my flights have multiple ones in them. They work well...contain the mess, a few birds can feed at the same time. If hung inside the birds roost on top of them or some sleep inside the area where food is dispensed...resulting sometimes in a mess (zebras love to do this). A few of the member hang their feeder on the outside and they can probably tell you how it works for them.
Just a little hint, if the birds do not use the feed often enough to empty it quickly check for stale seed or bugs. I have never had bugs but some don't use the feeders at all and seed sits there, so I removed the feeders from the cage completely and use dishes with those birds. When first introducing the feeders I would continue to use a dish of seed to insure all the birds are using th feeder. I still include a dish since some do use it and others don't in my flights.
There is another feeder that I believe Candace and John use that has a central seed dispenser and 4 areas for food, this looks very nice also and I believe they said it works well...perhaps they can share that with you.

Re: Feeder with catch tray
We have that feeder Blake. We used (note USED!) it for our conures and Quakers. I found it was hard to clean...you have to take the whole thing apart, and there is a piece of "foam" that fits in the middle and when it gets wet, it takes a whole day to dry. We stopped using it. Might work better for smaller birds who eat seed...
Cindy, I like the looks of the ones you posted much better - looks like they have a much simpler construction. Where did you find them?

Michele try Red Bird Products or Bird Supply NH or Lady Gouldian (she sells them with a waterer also)

Re: Feeder with catch tray
Thank you Cindy! I shop at BSNH all the time (they are close in NH!), but I had never seen Red Bird. Looks like a lot of variety there, and good prices!cindy wrote:Michele try Red Bird Products or Bird Supply NH or Lady Gouldian (she sells them with a waterer also)
Again, thank you for sharing Cindy!

Re: Feeder with catch tray
Thanks for the info everyone. I'll be looking into the simpler constructed ones that were posted in the replies and such. I'm completely re-doing my setups so I'm trying to find everything that will work well for a while so I can stop modifying cages etc. and annoying my birds.

Red Bird Products has the most economical seed hoppers that I could find online.
