Here I go again........

Post by mickp » Fri Dec 31, 2010 1:36 am

Finally I can start on the next aviary build, 'she who wants to be obeyed' is happy now her shadehouse is finished.
The aviary itself will measure 8m x 6m x 2.4m
Attached to this will be 2 smaller aviaries/cages. one approx 2m x 2m x 2.4m
the other 4m x 2m x 2.4m to be used as a holding cage.
Will be ordering the material for the framework just after the new year. 100 lengths of 25mm galvanised RHS.
There goes $2200. My reason for getting so much material is that there will be enough left over to extend my old aviary to the same size that the new one will be.
Will be doing the same as I did on my most recent build though and digging 3' deep trenches for concrete foundations, to keep the damn mice out.
Once all is complete I should have 3 aviaries approx 30' x 20' x 8' plus holding cages etc
Addicted to Finches, yes I do admit it.
I pray they never find a cure.

 That sounds GREAT! Happy building. Me thinks the Gouldians are going to produce more than 140 young in there.

Sounds great Mick - best wishes for the aviary and 2011. You are already into January at this minute, aren't you. You always were a step ahead of us. Happy New Year!
