Congrats

I also had a mission in finding my young Java pair. I had to travel 40 miles to the coast (at least the weather was nice) to a private breeder. You will enjoy them, they are great birds with such funny characters. I look forward to seeing the pics.

Thanks
Will try post some pics tomorrow.
I know what you mean Dan,all the pairs i saw for sale were 3year+ and being sold because they were not good for breeding, usally that wont stop me buying birds if i like them, but as i have limited space for time being and would like to breed some Java i wanted a young pair, luckily i only had to drive to the village next to me for this pair

My goodness they are gorgeous! They look very large in the picture -- how big are Javas?

I would say around twice the size of a zebra, from what I have read they can be aggressive/dominant but I love the colouring and look of them

Nice looking Javas m8! They look pretty settled in their new home.
Yea, they ain't too agressive in an avairy, but in a cage it can be a diffrent story. Long time ago i tried having four (3 hens, one cock) in a large cage and it didn't work out. They started fighting instantly (especially the male), and givin that Javas have large beaks i wasn't gonna take any chances of them getting hurt, so i separated them.

I love Javas; they're so striking looking, and they seem very intelligent and playful.
I work part-time at a bird store, and when we had Javas, they were the only finches who actually tried to bite me when I had to handle them. Sassy little guys.
