I added two more forbes to the aviary. My pair that bred for me hasn't shown interest in a while so I thought maybe this would stiumlate them. Now there are three pairs. Who knows??? Maybe lots of forbes babies soon!!

Yes, she did keep one of her hens (babies) and the other two were traded out for these two males. No sense in keeping all three hens since they were all related and no luck of finding available unrelated stock. Debbie you are right in that they are very hard to find.

Pretty Forbes, Donna -- I'll be trying to breed my two young pairs of Forbes for the first time this summer, too. 
I've heard they are very tricky to breed and I know they are prone to obesity as well (like most parrot finches) so a huge aviary setting like yours will certainly keep them slim and fit.
Here's hoping for a successful breeding season for your Forbes (and mine)!

I have only bred my pair once and I am not sure of the age of the hen..... But they haven't bred for me since so I don't know. The males that were just added are young so hopefully that is not true facts.....

That doesn't make logical sense to me just thinking about the life of a wild bird but I don't have enough experience or knowledge with finches or Forbes to know if that is true or not. That would really only be 2 breeding seasons (at the most!)
Someone with more experience esp. with PF's (KCDozy? or Fardad?) may have to chime in and let us know...
I certainly HOPE it's not true -- although mine (all 4) were born at the end of Summer last year so are very young -- but that would mean just this year and MAYBE next for babies. Yipes!

That doesn't sound quite right either--seems like the species would have disappeared from the wild with such a short breeding life. I hope that is wrong.
