We discovered he loves his head tickled, loves my husband to whistle to him - he comes close to my husband and listens. He was making kissing noises...and he got a little loud when I walked away but quiets if I shush him quietly.

My daughter played peek a boo with him, when she would appear her made a noise, when she disappeared he got quiet, he is very attentive and watches everything.

I got a very wild lovebird to tame down, I hope I can win this little guy's trust!

He was not a happy camper when it was bed time, I covered his cage and he was a little vocal but settled down, faint mumbling was heard...let's see how he does tomorrow!

Would you not consider getting him a friend? even another male. I had two of them and the were truly inseparable. They were like one bird with to heads most of the time...if you know what I mean

I agree - they are almost like one body with two heads. They really thrive in the others company.

The little guy definately has some behavior issues, the previous owner let him have free run of the house and he was allowed to fly and follow her. He is having a horrible time screaming when I leave the room or get to far from the cage and it gets louder and more vocal if I go out the patio door to take the dogs out, he can be heard across the yard!

My friend (the breeder) and I discussed it and he was on the phone as I moved about the house/out onto the patio...the screeching was less than pleasing. The little bird must have been spoiled and let to have his way with some strong attachments to the previous owner.

My friend and I decided that it was best for him to come back to the aviary and redirect his attention off a person (the behavior would have gotten worse and would have continued since he was of breeding age and viewed me as a mate (I resemble the other owner)). We decided to give him a girlfriend and allow him to be a fellow companion within the aviary of his own kind. He will live out his life there. I took him back this morning and he immediately joined in with the other linnies...happy as can be, ignored me and went right to eating.

They are very smart and lovely birds, perhaps someday I can get another one and handfeed it out and allow it to be handled by everyone in the house so it does not bond with just one person. Lucy, our lovebird was brought up that way and goes to everyone and does not favor me.

Janine, it was hard to let go but some times you have to do what is best for the bird and not yourself. He had a big bird personality and big love me eyes!

When I walked into the avairy with him all the other linnies started chirping, he was chirpping right along with them...it was like a greeting! He will be fine, he is getting a beautiful mate.

Eventually I may take a little one and feed it out but for right now I am content on waiting for a cinnamon bourke and a white face.

He was so cute Cindy....I am sorry to hear you had to return him. But it was for the best....for you and him. There will be more opportunities for another Linnie.

A Linnie is on my must-have list too....someday. :D

Thank you Deborah, I would love the opportunity ti raise a little one.

My friend said I can have a pick of whatever color...who knows maybe I will even get one of the little guy's babies to raise! My friend has some of the most beautiful coobalts and turquoise mutations.

I'm sorry for you that it didn't work out. :(

I think it's very considerate of you and the breeder to not force the little guy but let him live with the others now. I'm sure it was a tough decision to give him back. =D>
