Re: My new "Aviary"
It looks great
... If you plan on trying to set up finches to breed in this flight, you really might want to consider moving the Diamond Dove to a new home
... I really like them but they can keep a small flight stirred up when they move around..

Re: My new "Aviary"
I learned that very quickly.
I added some Orange cheeks and they were continually stirred up and I don't think they liked it much. I moved them out of there. What do you think would go with Diamonds?
I have a second "aviary" almost completed that is a tad bit smaller and I will put the doves in that one.
Thx for the info! Any helps while I am still in the learning process.

Re: My new "Aviary"
I'm sure you will get some much better advice from others here.... In my experience, they have much less impact on the larger, more aggressive finches, Saffron's, Diamond Sparrow's, etc....

Re: My new "Aviary"
So you would just put some finches in with them that are a little more aggressive/less timid?
I heard canaries will pull the dove's feathers out sometimes.

Re: My new "Aviary"
I read that on here also & I can almsot picture it in my head.. I went thru my Canary period several years back and when they are building a nest, nothing would be safe.. If that Dove set still to long I could see where he would be fair game, lol.. I do have a single Diamond in a flight 3X5X6 ft tall with a pair of Diamond Firetails & a pair of Crimson Seed Crackers.. They have been together for several months in peace.. The Firetails have a nest & are on eggs, the dang Seed Crackers have staked out a nest (no eggs yet) but everyone seem happy.
