BFPF's - Male or Female
Here's a pic of two of my juvies - siblings actually. Any guesses as to their gender?
I didn't want to hijack the other BFPF thread currently running.

Agree, male with darker/richer colors and larger mask first picture
Second picture, female...not as vivid... though it could be the difference in the lighting. The second picture is much lighter like a flash was used.
Both Beautiful

LOL - That's sort of what I but I would like to make sure it's not the flash of the camera throwing off the colouring too. Do you think the one has a greater/larger area of blue on it? They are so fast, it is difficult to get a good pic of them - let alone in a similar position.lovemyfinch wrote:May I take a stab in dark? I would say male and female

In the first pic, the mask does appear to go further back than in the second.
Of course I may need to change my reading glasses

Re: BFPF's - Male or Female
Thank you Bill and Candace too. I would like to sell them as male and female (related, so to different buyers would be best) but I'd like a bit of support to back up my thoughts. I think "he" has a larger area of blue but I'm not 100% about it. They are not in the same cage to compare colouration side by side.

Re: BFPF's - Male or Female
Beautiful PF babies... have you heard any trilling? I always try to separate and observe until they are sexed properly and don't have any BFPF's but I agree with the general consensus of most likely male on top, female on bottom (
whoops! that didn't come out quite like I intended).

Thanks for the chuckle, Anna!
I haven't separated them to hear them call or sing. That would be disrupting over 20 birds to catch up these two. I may do that if there is an discrepancy here.
