Lifespan of Bengalese Society Finch
I have heard many different estimates on the average lifespan of these birds. Anything from 4-12 years for a healthy finch. Does anyone have a more definitive answer, as that seems a very vague estimate!

I dunno about that being the age range for a healthy bird.
That is probably the full range for the bird.
On short end, the pet store birds that are not properly cared for and the unexplained sudden deaths.
And on the long end, the well cared for ones and the ones that outlive the average.

hi
in my experience they dont live much beyond 5 years, when you pick them up and put a finger on their breast, thier hearts beat more like a buzzing rather than a beat and i think ,like zebs the lifespan is not very long because of the speed of the heart beat most larger birds like canaries ,or javas live longer because they have a much slower heartbeat
