I think some babies would beg forever if their parents would keep feeding them.

Anna: i removed the nest basket of the foster parents coz they are starting to lay some eggs already. Im afraid that they wont feed anymore the tiny Owl since they are starting a new family of their own. what i did is to foster the laid 2 eggs to another society so that it wont be a waste. this is to make sure that the foster parents will still be feeding the owl baby until it learns to eat softfoods, egg food pr seeds on its own...

That sounds like a good idea. Hopefully the little owl will make it just fine.

I wanted to share a picture of the little one but I'm not sure if the file is too large to be allowed for an attachment.

Have 5 new additions to my 2 breeding pairs. Owls are very nice to watch because of their agility and soft sound.

If you can keep your photos to 7" (max height or width size) and about 72 pixels resolution - that should be fine to post anywhere.

Hi Liz,

yes, its a little crested normal Black Brested Zebra baby with my owl... was sad last Saturday to see three owl eggs being tossed again by their parents... dont know whats on their heads ... grrrr... so sorry for those fertile eggs that cant successfully see the light and live. i always wanted the owls to raise their own babys until they fledge...

Owls can be very tricky to breed. I'm going to try them myself in a few months. Thank goodness for foster parents when necessary. =D>

Just too sweet! I guess we have to savor our victories when we get them with finches... :)
