cubans Have Eggs!!
My first pair of Cubans have eggs!
She isn't sitting yet,
but she was in the nest to have an egg this morning.
I don't know if she laid yesterday.
The nest is like tunnel and I can't see inside.
I am NOT going to try to look and bother them.
Let nature take its course!

Re: cubans Have Eggs!!
Yesterday there was 3 eggs I could see.
This morning she was in the nest for about 10 mins.
So she may have had a 4th egg, but has not started to sit yet.
She should start today or tommorow.
I just feed and water them and leave, let them do the rest.

That's what I do and it seems to work best for them as Cubans seem to be pretty light sitters. Good luck!!BigBear0007 wrote:

I can't, yesterday she was rearanging some of the material and she came out, so I was lucky to catch a glimse of the eggs. I think it was three eggs, white and speckled.
It's a little tunnel she goes through to go to the back.
I don't want to disturb them, by trying to move things around.

Re: cubans Have Eggs!!
The Cuban Finch is on the endangered species list. Cuba will not export them anymore and are trying to stop any illegal exports. My two pairs are ( Aviary/Cage bred ) I am trying to breed and get as many babies as possible. So people that want these birds will buy them from breeders and not from illegal wild cought imports! Maybe one day there will be enough so we can release some back into the wild in Cuba and Jamaica and the islands.

I went and peaked into the room earlier today, but I didn't go in.
I saw that the male was at the entrance of the wicker basket. Pulling double duty as a century while she was inside.

Cuban Finch nest with eggs!
The hen was off the nest eating,
so I took a picture with my cell phone.
Sorry about the quality.
