Video of a VERY, VERY chatty little owl!!!!!!!! Begging to!!

This is the little owl family and little chubby baby, nicknamed Chipper but I think it should be changed to something more fitting!!!

The video is a little long but there is some begging and feeding along with his vocal disply!!! Excuse the floor of the cage, parents are building a new nest in the box!

Oh thanks Janine! That is the most adorable thing I've ever seen! So cute I had to watch it twice! You know, your baby has such a full crop he looks like he has a double chin! Those parents did a great job. I can't help thinking they're raising their hands saying "feed me!"

I am wondering if the third baby was fed to a point but due to this little one being so in the parent's face the third was crowded out and passed away before it had the strength to fledge. He is pushy, the other once is better, it begs and is fed and gets quiet...no further begging or "noisy chatter"!!!!

They used a tube nest to raise this clutch in and now are building in a box...perhaps this will gie all future chicks more of a chance at the table and not be crowded out by piggies!!!!

Cindy, I LOVE that baby! He is so darn cute (bet its a male!) Darn, now I feel deprived that none of my five are making those cute obnoxious noises and wing flipping all the time.

I LOVE it!! Just the sound makes me want to laugh and his antics are adorable!

Owl chicks are the cutest hands down. At first with my handfed owls I thought that little wing thing they did was funny, but it got frustrating very quickly. They kept blocking the other birds from being fed (I think this may be the intention). Their personalities are still adorable though.

Domenic, I bet that is what happened to the third one in the nest, it died just short of fledging. This one blocks the other but both parents feed each one...I will have to watch the next clutch.

And... we are reminded that there is a serious side to the little adorable wing flip. (Sigh). I guess that IS why they do it, though, to increase their chances of survival.

By the way, I think you should call him 'Toro'!! He's very dramatic and he sweeps that wing out like a Toreador with a cape!

Isn't there a literary character that sang for his supper? This little butterball is quiet the little character, he actually jumped on his mother's back when she flew off and ignored his chattering!
