Re: Changes in the aviary
There are not any nest for the hens to lay eggs in. IF they start that they will have to lay them on the floor.
I hate the sheet idea also. So what do you think???? Just let it go and now worry about them "hanging out" ?

Re: Changes in the aviary
I think that's all you can really do
I have a very different set up then you. My last pair that had gave me 2 beautiful clutches recently I decided to separate after they weaned the last of the babies. At first I just removed the nest while the parents were still in the flight and the hen continued to lay eggs regardless. I just got rid of the eggs and she eventually stopped. I then took the male out and put him in the boy cage and he called and called for his hen for days. It upset me to hear him but he eventually got over it and is not doing it anymore. I think once they see they are not going to get anyway hopefully they will give up. I think we get emotionally involved because we love our birds but I just keep saying, it's for them, and also I just don't have the space for that many babies, period

Too cute. Those girls know what they want! Love the pic of them peeking behind the curtain.
