He a terrific singer - reminds me of a Roller. I'm very new to Canaries - is he a Roller or part?

Sherry....that was a great video....I hope to get some canaries someday as well....and like Liz am wondering what type of song he is singing.

Also I forgot to say that the photos of your Owls are wonderful...they look so nice and healthy. My female Owl is looking overpreened right now so she is tatty looking. :?

Oh...I just watched one of your other videos...."The Flash".....that is too funny.....your Schnauzer is a hoot! Was he carrying something in his mouth? It was hard to tell as he zoomed by.

Deborah yes he had a toy in his mouth. I have another video of him in which he is a total blurrrrrr! He loves to run back and forth.

Not sure if Peeps is a roller he sounds much like the gloster I had as a child way back in the dark ages..... :D

Beautiful birds! Looks like you've provided them a very comfortable and inviting home too. Welcome!

Thank you all for the wonderful comments. Well my Red Factor and his ladybird have now got 3 eggs in the nest. I introduced her to him on April 9th and she laid her first egg on April 21st. So three eggs as of today can't wait until tomorrow.

Any suggestions for adding more finches with my Owls and OCWB's?

Woo! 3 eggs! they're really purdy. I've never seen Canary eggs. Oooh, she's got a feather bead to cuddle on! What is in the nest? It looks so soft! Yesterday I saw a canary at the shop I get my bird food from. She was sitting on a nest and looked a lot like your hen! She was 1/2 roller. The cock bird was a beautiful yellow and white. I don't know what he was. Who knows.... I might have to get one of those chicks if she hatches any. What do you think is a good price?

The nest is a combination of torn toilet tissue, paper towel, grass hay, horse hair and makeup remover pads which I pulled apart she really like that. She even added some millet heads at the bottom of the nest. I didn't have any store bought nesting material as she was way ahead of me building the nest. I didn't think she would be that fast. #-o

I paid $60 for my Red Factor from a gal in Redmond, Oregon she has lots of them. My hen was $40 from a gal right here on the ranch. Folks say he sounds like a roller but I don't know. I was told on the CanaryNest forum she was a Pied Varigated Yellow Canary. I see lots of Canaries on the internet that look just like her same coloring etc. and they are American Singers. :?: :?: :?: Don't know. If the chicks make it I will make you a deal you can't refuse.... :P

hi trish
i would venture into canaries if i were you but they would have to be a decent price ,the chicks may be hard to tell what breed they are because it may have been an accidental pairing.....its what i call a heinz 57...but if they are from a pet shop you may get them for a reasonable price.i once tried to venture into yorkshire canaries which are a lovely breed of canary but the man i went to see was a top breeder and he was asking   £150 a pair needless to say i didnt scratch that particular itch!....my borders always cost me way to much when i bought new stock but i always say you get what you pay for
