sorry to hear about you little bird. I had a zebra that could not fly and I kept her in a square "tub" with food on the ground and a low water dish. I figured if she could eat and drink and didn't seem obviously in pain, she was ok. She lived like that for 8 months. So, we do what we can to accomodate them.

So sorry for the loss of your litttle Chester....I have not been on Finchforum for a while and just read your story. It's quite a eye opener that the new bird you got had a growth as well, which goes to show it must be something common, but serious. I only hope that the female and new baby continue good health. Hopefully, you can find some new info that will help with the new bird. I am new to the world of finches and have learned a lot reading the forum. I will plan on checking out two of my finches that came from "The Bird Factory" here in Fl. In fact when I bought the 2 birds, I noticed one of the birds in the same cage had a large growth on it's beak. So ya never know for sure what a new bird might bring home. Keep us updated, and again I'm very sorry and wish you the best.
