Quarantine for new Linnies!
I was just curious if the quarantine of my new Linnies would be any different than if they were finches?....In a couple of weeks (hopefully sooner!) I will be getting a breeding pair of Linnies!!....I am so excited!...A Creamio girl and a Green boy....She is carries all the colors....I was planning a 30 day quarantine like I do for my finches, but I was wondering if members could outline their quarantine proceedures and meds when bringing a new type of bird into their home......Is it different for other birds?....Does anyone have experience with Linnies?....Any help would be appreciated!

I would say the same, I keep my birds in quarantine for the same amount of time no matter what species they are.

Ditto - I quarantine the same length of time (4 weeks) with Scatt and dewormer for all birds upon arrival.

Since hookbills can contract a few more diseases than finches, if there is any doubt of their health it might also be good to include a visit to a qualified avian vet.
