Donna I'm utterly shocked and so sad to hear this. I'm so sorry you lost the apple of your eye. I agree with everyone that Mario was a very special gouldian, and probably the most renowned finch on the entire forum. It's such a shame to see him go.

My most sincere condolences. I was really really hoping the special lad would pull through. I know the feeling of finding a lifeless body - there's no words to express the feeling. It's like your heart just drops to your knees. I think Mario just had a clutch with his mate recently? At least he left you with some of his DNA. You should try keeping his offspring and seeing if any of his beautiful color come out in the next generation. I'm so sorry, my heart really aches for you. There's disagreements as to whether or not animals go to heaven, but if they do, I'm sure Mario is right up there, smiling down on you with gratitude for the time he spent with you.
