molting or something else?

Post by cvalda » Fri Apr 22, 2011 10:00 am

I have two young Gouldians with a hatch date of Oct 2010. The first couple of weeks that I had them, they were very active and looked great. Now they do not, and I realize it could be molting or maybe it's something else? They are puffed up constantly, and are relatively lethargic. I have them in a cage in my bedroom so they have peace and quiet, and I can keep the room warm for them. I did see them both eating millet this morning.

I'm not seeing a lot of "flying feathers", although it does appear that they are starting to show some color on their chests now.

However, when I look at their poo, it almost looks like I see worms. I could be imagining, but I'd hate to overlook something like that by assuming it's just molting.

Can I treat them for worms just in case, while they may be molting? If so, what do I get to treat that?
