I picked up this stuff today for my birds to try.
Especially the Red Cheeks and I gave some to the Cubans also.
It's $20.00 here in Calgary at Petland.
Much cheaper in the states.
Anybody else try it?

I haven't tried that specific item but I do use the Quiko egg food for Red Factor Canaries. They love it. I am going to look for it ASAP....

My way thinking is as such.
I don't like to mess with the live meal worms.
This has a good mix of bugs/bug eggs and real egg in it.
If they like it then I won't have to make egg food as often,
and/or just give it to them together.

Definitely looks worth a try. I'm going to try and source some in and around Hamilton.

Well the birds didn't like it moist.
So today I will try it dry and see what happens?
Anyone else have any luck locating some?
I still give them my mix of egg food, I have plenty made.

I have this product. My gouldians don't really care for it, but my goldfinches like it. I can see them nibbling on it ones in the while, I just let them have it dry, and when I see the cup getting almost empty I just filling it up again. But I payed for it like 11$, although, the place where I got it does not have more. I just would have to ask the owner if he would be ordering more of it.

I just ordered some on Drs. Foster and Smith. :) Here's a link to the page. The picture is of the Canary formula, but if you scroll down you'll see all the different fornulas. I use the Exotic for my Gouldians and I'm hoping the owls like the Goldy. I believe they're a little more insectivorous than Gouldians. I've tried dried fly snack - and the Goulds don't touch it. :? The Goldy is $10.99 (plus shipping).

I agree with Donna...it has an odor to it that I personally did not like. I use Higgins Snack Attack ProTeen 25. It has a lot of good things in it. I got a 35 lb bag for $17.00 from a friend that orders it from a distributor. I grind up enough to fit into a container and add ground pellets to it. My birds like it...some of my owls go to that over boiled eggfood, my shaftail clear the dish.

Well that was a waste of time and money!
My birds never touched, they prefer my eggfood mixture.
I tossed it out for all wild birds to eat.

I have used that mixed with egg and they ate it. I mixed three tablespoons with to one hard boiled egg including shell.

Aw, you could have tried giving it to them in different ways. I'm in the middle of trying to get my gouldians to eat a little carrot/apple. Mixed in the egg food does seem to work!

I tried that too, but my birds did not eat it. They hardly ever carry it at local stores, so I am not using it anymore.
