WOW...you go girl \:D/
I love the spot you have chosen. I love the stained wood too, very attractive. That is going to be a great place for that morning coffee....careful it will turn into afternoon coffee...evening coffee. :D Nothing compares to sitting back and enjoying your birds in a nice aviary unless it's a nice fish tank :D I love your fish picture on your wall... I have nothing but watercolor fish pictures downstairs in the living area.

Congrats on posting pictures =D> We are proud of you

Judy, that aviary looks wonderful! That looks like the perfect location, at the end of the room. Like the others, I can't wait to see it filled with birds. I had to laugh at the pictures of the bird cages stacked everywhere--what we go thru to take care of our little friends!

BTW, the photos are the perfect size--you can click on them to enlarge to full screen. I really like that size, because you can see so much detail on birds when it is full screen.

Thank you so much, everyone. Tomorrow it will be painted inside and the Orchid transfers put on the wall (thanks, Candace) and an artificial pine tree in the left corner for roosting/nesting (again, TY, Candace). A nice fountain birdbath (thanks Donna and Ursula) and some privacy perches. I'll take more pictures. You can't see in the pics I've submitted so far, but at the right end is a deep closet to keep all the paraphernalia. I"m so happy and so excited. .. and a little claustrophobic at the moment ..being surrounded by all these cages.

Hi Judy, I wasn't a member when you started your aviary so I'm glad it's updated so I can catch up! It's wonderful and I hope you have photos of it full of beautiful finches to share with us! \:D/
PS My living room looks like yours in the photos! We have cages all over the place.

And the other 2 sides of the room.

BTW, pictured on the bookcase is a photo of my beautiful daughter, Marla. We lost her suddenly last winter ..she went into diabetic shock/coma. Still breaks my heart to speak of her. She was only 42, a cardiac RN.

I pondered so long on building this aviary.. I'm sorry I waited so long. The birds look happier and more healthy than they've ever been. And the cage cleaning/watering/feeding is a breeze compared to the bazillion cages I had before. I didnt have time to enjoy my little fids.. now I do! It's a nice cozy spot.

As far as the dogs liking it.. Buddy could care less, but Cookie loves it. It brings all those flitting jewels down to her level.. and she'd like to have 'just one'.. if she could! [-X ..

My condolences on the loss of your daughter Marla. she was indeed, beautiful. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Your Aviary is fantastic! I couldn't have picked a more perfect place. I would sit at the table all day long reading and enjoying the birds in their enclosure! Thank you for the updated photos! It's good to know that it is easier to care for them now. It seems I spend all morning feeding, watering and caring for our birds that are in cages.

Again, so sorry to hear about your lovely daughters passing.

Judy, the aviary looks fantastic! You did a great job with it, I would sit every morning with my coffee and watch the birds. I am getting so tired of filling all those eggfood dishes, waterers, etc. As you said, no time to really enjoy the birds.

I am so relieved that you are able to speak now about the loss of your daughter, Marla. It has to be so incredibly difficult, but it is one of the painful stages you go through in learning to cope with loss. My thoughts are certainly with you.

So sorry for your loss Judy  Losing a child must be the most difficult thing that anyone would ever have to go through.

The aviary and room are just stunning, such a wonderful way to have a peaceful meal and just watch the birds flying free. =D>
