My zebras and societies get Zupreem Natural. I stopped using the fruit/colored one, cuz the coloring goes into the poop and stains the perches. Also I can't evaluate their poop when it is colored. None of the local stores carry the Natural, so I have to special order it from PetFood Express.

My gouldians get LaFeber's Finch Food (pellets). I have to order the 5 pound tubs from PetClub, as no one carries the 5 pound tub.

I want to try the Roudybush line of products for my gouldians, but the local bird shop is really bad about following up on orders. A guaranteed sale and he does not do anything about bringing in the products to complete the sale. :(

I an in the process of converting my wifes canary to LaFeber's Canary Food (pellets)

Try the sites I recommended they carry the natural and Roudybush. Mine will not touch the natural...our vet even recommends the fruit flavor.

At one time, I looked at ordering bulk food but the shipping was so expensive, that buying bulk quantity locally (discounted) was cheaper.

I will check out the sites you mentioned.

I have a question for users of the Zupreem Fruit Blend Pellets - I've been feeding a finch mix with pellets (not Zupreem) and none of my birds touch the pellets. I haven't tried Zupreem specifically, but I don't think it would hurt to suppliment an mainly seed diet with some pellets; especially if they like it. My only concern is the sugar content in these "fruit pellets" -- even if it's natural or fruit based sugar, sugar is simply still sugar -- I've also read that some people have birds that prefer these pellets over seed. I imagine that there is a good amount of sugar to produce these pellets. Are there any concerns of the birds developing diabetes or diabetic tendencies? My other concern would be that these pellets are synthetic or man-made. Not something that our finches would find in the wild or in their natural habitat. As I said, I wouldn't be putting my birds on a 100% pellet diet. For me, there's nothing better than a seed diet. However, I don't see any harm in offering the Zupreem pellets if they are that popular given that they don't make the sugar levels of my birds un-naturally high. Comments? :?:

Ha, I just ordered a bag of the Zupreem Natural and a bag of the Zupreem Fruit Blend. I'm in it to win, hopefully. For those interested in trying this, I ordered from Pet Solutions. The "Fruit Blend" for finches can be found here http://www.petsolutions.com/storefront/ ... dDiet.html and the natural finch blend can be found here http://www.petsolutions.com/storefront/ ... lDiet.html. I thought the prices were pretty good and they offer free shipping for orders over $99, which I easily met after ordering 25lbs of finch food. They offer a great number of other things "finchaholics" can use like perches, nests, suppliments, etc. What sweetens this even further is that everything was tax-free for me, I paid no shipping, there's 100% guarantee on everything, AND I was able to use a promo code for $5 off $50, which was completely unexpected. :D Just wanted to throw this tidbit of information out there for those who want to try the pellets. 8)

My birds are on a primarily pellet diet.
They get seeds as a treat, unless they are the few that are breeding, and "insist" on eating seeds.

LOL, I'm going to do the opposite. My birds are and always will be on a primarily seed diet, but I'm open and will be experimenting with pellets as a treat/snack. I ordered the fruit blend because of Cindy's recommendation and I ordered the Zupreem Natural blend per your recommendation. We'll see what happens. :D

All my birds use pellets as confetti! I have yet to get one single bird to eat them so the squirrels are getting fat!

LOL!!! My birds haven't been eating the pellets either, but the ones I have are not Zupreem. I like the look of pellets mixed in with the seeds -- kinda looks like cupcake toppings -- pretty rainbow. But I always end up tossing the majority of the black oily seeds and the pellets because my birds don't touch them. The wild birds and the squirrels have a feast though. I will let everyone know how the Zupreem goes with my flock. 8)

I started with the colored Zupreem, but when the perches started getting stained from their colored poop, I decided to switch to the natural (non colored) pellets. The colored pellets also make it difficult to detect poop problems as the poop is colored by the food.
