Ino Society

Post by lovemyfinch » Fri May 20, 2011 6:54 am

For all those of you that recall Lucky and Chance's anniversary clutch =D> , I just wanted to show off that beautiful little pure white ino that they surprised me with. =D>
Now to ask the experts though, how normal is it that just the pupil shows red in the pictures, but in person it is all red :? :?:
Hubby says it is because I have the red eyed reduction turned on on the camera :?

Janine, they are really pretty! I like white birds, there is a softness to them?

The eye looks red the pupil does and so does the outer ring which looks like a cranberry color on my computer.

Oh Janine! How wonderful!!
I want one... soooo bad!

I expect there's a real trick to breeding for them - probably an INO parent. Off to research... ;-)

JohnBoy
Inos range from very light fawn to pure white. It is my understanding that if they come from chocolate selfs or the dark euros they will be very light fawn and cream colored. If they are bred with fawns or chestnuts they can be white. I have a female ino that comes from the dark euros, and she is very light fawn on the head and tail, and cream in between.

Beauties Janine!!!!! I just love them!!!!

Thanks Star.

Here is a pic of one of my Inos. (Below the spice in flight)
Also how would you know if you have a white Ino or just a white? I guess the only way is if you know the background of the bird?

JohnBoy

Your ino is beautiful!! Mine is a little lighter.

It does seem like you would need to know the background of the bird. I learned recently that if two pied fawn birds have an all white baby, the eyes would be red.

I am actually calling this one a fluke. =D>
Both parents are pieds. They have produced dark eyed whites before, including 2 siblings in this clutch. This is the only ino in the bunch. :? :?
