Cuban Finches Doing The Dance of Love

Post by BigBear0007 » Sat May 28, 2011 1:14 pm

Saw the male tread the hen this morning!
Let's hope they get it right this time?
The nest is built, now just the eggs are needed.

The hen is in the nest and seems like she is staying put.
Looks like she has had all her eggs.
I don't want to bother at all.
They are easy to spook, so they are on their own.

So that's two hens on eggs! Yay!

Something happened this morning!
I think a baby hatched.
Both parents were in the nest and their
heads were bobbing up and down.

There has to be at least two babies, both parents were in the nest
feeding them or it?
At times the male will feed the hen and then her head bobs up and down.
So far so good!
I can wait till they fledge before I see them.

Any updates on this love ball? Should we be grabbing our dancing shoes to celebrate? Here's hoping that "no news, is good news". [-o<

Bad news, no babies as I thought.
Just three eggs that were dudds!
Anybody with an aviary in Alberta want them?
I think that is what they need?

Oh, there's no need to give up. :) There have many many folks who have been successful cage-breeding the Cuban Melodious Finches. I would give them another season and see where it goes from there. Any new eggs? :)

No new eggs yet.

I am willing to trade them for a yellow or blue and yellow
pair of goulds
