How are Shaft Tails with other Finches?

Post by ranchnanny » Fri Jun 10, 2011 6:41 pm

Do Shaft Tails get along with other Finches? There is a gal trying to rehome 2 pairs as she is downsizing. I don't that much about them. Comments Please.

What's a good price for a pair. She said she paid $60 for each bird. I want to make a deal with her for the two pairs. Any suggestions.

$60 x 4 birds = $240. I'd offer her $200 for both pairs and see where she goes from there.

Good luck!

I have four in my aviary right now. They are doing great and getting along. But.... I had to rehome my first pair because they were not very nice, chasing around other birds and being mean.

I think it depends on the birds ....... I would try it because they are such fun and comical birds. I love my two pairs!!!

Just keep an eye on them Sherry. Obviously not everyone has the same experience with birds.

When you put new birds in with existing birds - rearrange the set up so there are no territorial squabbles.

I also have never had a problem with aggression with my shaft-tails.
