Continental CFW , Black cheek and CCFW split to BC

I matched a female BC with a male CCFW to see what they would produce, how big the babies would be. The split CCFW offspring took on the stockiness of the BC and the feathers seem fuller. The bird is fuller compared to the normal CCFW offspring. Both are females.

Oh such beautiful Zebbies Cindy! I just love how there are so many different mutations!~ and Messy the Crested is so cute! Like she has a crown on her head! =D> That's what it looks like to me.
Could you tell me what the in-cage lighting is? did it come with the cages or did you install it? I was always afraid to put in-cage lighting for fear of the birds getting burnt or too close to the light. I heard they can end up with eye problems from too bright of light so I was paranoid. However if I get any more finches  I will have to start stacking cages  and the shop lights hanging over the cages I have now won't work for the birds under those cages. Ack!

Thank you... :D

Trish, the lights are from WalMart. On a previous thread from chase he mentioned he mounted these to the inside of the cages. I had all the lights already so with the help of zip ties I started hanging the lights.

You have to remove the cover off the bulb, turn the light over and insert a zip tie though and back through the small openings that a screw would slide into if hanging on the wall, replace the cover and hang. I threaded the cord through the bars either through the top or side.

Thanks so much for posting these photos! I just love that combination of the light body and dark cheeks!
Are the black cheeks typical of the CCFW color or is that only because yours are BCs?

I bought my BC first then found a pair of CCFWs. I always kept the youngs separate, never pairing any up until I decided to make a large flight and bput common cheek color together. A male CCFW took strong fancy to a female BC and they were together in the flight constantly.

I decided to pair them in a breeding cage and got the larger offspring tha is split but visual CCFW. I also wanted to see if I could get darker black cheeks and marking on the offspring of a split...the females are still somewhat faint but she is still molting and I am hoping for males in their next clutch.

From what I understand the CCFW came about by a combination of CFW and BC.
