Zebra fawn question

Post by Ameza » Tue Jul 12, 2011 5:40 pm

Just wondering, does the fawn colour come in different variety of more brownish and more greyish. I was comparing my two supposedly fawn chicks and saw that one was more brownish while the other a bit more dirty greyish colour, their tails were very different as well.
So I was wondering if they are different varieties of fawn or different mutations?

Might be too early to tell though :P

Hæ hæ!!

Já Fawn liturinn getur verið mismunandi ljós/dökkur.
Það var einmitt verið að tala um þetta um daginn.

Voðalega eru þeir sætir hjá þér :)
Hver á þennan dökka?
Gæti verið split BB.

Hi hi!!

Yes the fawn color can be ligher or darker on each bird.
We were talking about it few days ago.

they are very cute :)
Who are the parents of the darker one?
Could be split for BB.

The darker one with the light tail is from Bíbí (ng/bc) and Írena (lb/bc).
The other one is from "Snow White" (pied white) and "Flame" (EI)
I was mostly wondering if this could be lb fawn because of Írena, but that colour is lighter isin't it?

(Just added the colors for the benefit of others since Vargur knows my birds colours anyhow :)

ég er nú bara ekki alveg viss hvað þetta þýðir..
Kannski er fawn liturinn er bara svona mismunandi hjá rumpinum.
Annað hvort buff eða hvítur..

En er hún með tárarönd?
Finnst hún svo black breasted-leg, en þá líklega split.
Fuglar með litla, örmjóa tárarönd eru venjulega split fyrir ob eða bb.
Nei, þeir virðast ekki vera LB fawn.

I am just not sure what that means..
Maybe the fawn color is so very different on the rump on each bird..
buff or white..

Does she have a tearmark?
I think she is very BB-ish, but then she is a split..
Birds with small or thin tearmark are normaly split for OB and/or BB.

the birds are not LB fawn.
Then the belly would be white
