My new flight cage *pics*

Post by Ravyn » Fri Feb 01, 2008 12:13 pm

So I finally got my new flight cage and despite directions that were in badly translated chinese, finally got it put together. I moved the Bourkes and my two gouldians into it already. It's still kind of sparse. I need to add some more perches and things, but so far I'm really liking it. It definately needs another set of doors, though.

Anyway, pictures!

Ignore the clutter. I had to shift a bunch of stuff around and all those bins are being moved.

Very nice cage set-up. I like the dark green color....you can see your birdies easier than I can in my white cage.

Your Bourke's are soooo pretty....I have been wanting some of them someday too...sigh!

I see you have the same flower thingy that I have.....my finches really seem to like it but never land on the flowers...they just poop on them. :P

I love that pointing finger perch....I WANT ONE!!! :D :D

Where did you find that anyway?

I am sure you will be decorating and redecorating the cages till you get them the way you like them...I am still tweaking perch placement yet....trying to keep the poop free zones in the right places. :-k

Yeah, mine just poop on the flowers too :) *laugh*

The finger perch actually came with the birds when I picked them up. I believe the same company that makes the flower thing makes the finger perch as well. You can check out their website and see :)

Ravyn- I love that set up. You have some pretty birds, too. Your cage looks like it has similar spacing on the bottom shelf to mine. I got some great storage totes that fit perfectly under mine; they hold all the bird stuff and keep things looking tidy. Although your "clutter" is a lot neater than my clutter so I doubt you will have any problems.

Featherharp- I have seen the finger perches at a local bird store near me, but I don't know who makes them. I am pretty sure Vision doesn't make them though (they make the flowers). I am sure you can find them online. If all else fails shoot me a pm and maybe I can pick one up for you. (I will take any excuse to go to the bird store! :))

Nice cages. I had wanted one like that but they are a bit expensive. I ended up with an ebay special. It works for now but I would like to build something oneday.

hilljack13-

My husband and I started building a cage, and we started making something real attractive that would have plenty of room... Once we started working on it, it started to get really expensive. We gave up and bought a nice flight cage for about $150. We got more room for our money, it just made more sense. When you get to building your own just be sure to think that over very well before you start buying stuff (like us  ).

I guess thats why I have put it off for so long. I have seen articles where people have spent well over $600 on building. I have thought about doing an enclosure on my porch too.
