do people add anything to bath water?

Is there anything good to add to bathing water from time to time, or is just nice clean water all they should ever get?

I sometimes add grapefruit seed extract or apple cider vinegar.

I sometimes add a little sea salt. Helps to clean infections.

I add 1 drop of ACV (apple cider vinegar) per 1 oz of bath water.

And for my zebras I will ad 1/8 teaspoon on Listerene, to help prevent foot infection. My zebras seem to be partial to getting a cut on their foot, how it gets cut I don't know.

about once a week I add a cap full of distilled Aloe Vera to their bath water. It soothes dry skin and is even good for them to drink. I get it at our health food store. It's actually for human consumption but has many benefits for birds as well. I've been using it for all our birds for several years after we adopted a troubled cockatoo with a barbering problem. The brand I use is Georges Always Active Aloe. It's 12.00 for a one quart bottle that lasts a long time.

I add Sparkle to slow the growth of bacteria. I make sure I change it just before lights out so when they get up in the morning it is clean for them...

Like Debbie, I also use sparkle. Its very safe for birds, and you only need 4 drops for every cup of water. I find that if I don't have a chance to change their water (rarely happens but I work emergency services and sometimes I don't get a chance to do anything but grab my keys running out the door...) there isn't that gross slime in the water dishes that you get if you're using just plain water. I highly recommend it.
