One of my owls got out of the cage last night (took me ages to catch it, but that's another story!

), so it was a perfect opportunity to split the two up to see if anybody would sing. Today they have both been, what I would call, singing, but would like some verification from those of you in the know! Here is a Youtube video of my one male. The sound quality is not the greatest and of course a bus went by at exactly the wrong moment,

but hopefully this will be enough for verification. I think I may have a pair of gentlemen owls on my hands!

They never made a sound like this while they were together!.

Yes, that is some singing mixed with chirping. My cock does that when his mate is sitting in the nest.

Jacqui, you might want to check with Liz and Igor for the next meet, if I am not mistaken they have both been having good luck with theirs.

Yes, and I know Liz DNAs hers, so I'd be sure to get females!

Alrighty then, I shall take samples tomorrow and send them out on Tuesday!
PS - Isn't the singing of the male owls 'something else'??!! I think it's like listening to Star Wars!

But even better/cuter!

They sound a bit mad - but it is a sweet sound.
That's great about the samples. My boys are unrelated, so unrelated hens would be great as well, if possible.
