he seemed SOOO much better this morning! I was pretty sure that last night was going to 'make or break him' but today he was on the perch (as opposed to staying perched on the edge of a bowl ALL evening) and even moving around and drinking water. he was alert and seemed to be almost 'normal'. I will post again when I get home and can watch him more closely.

Thanks again to everyone!

well............. he is not 100% back to his normal self but he is about 10 times better and i now feel like he is 'out of the woods' as far as real danger is concerned. eating, drinking and flying are a heck of a lot better than sitting and rocking to and fro! plus, improvement is definitely what we were looking for - he is going in the right direction and i think we all know that those little guys will get sicker rather quickly when they are not well, so i feel like it's safe to say he's going to be ok.
will continue to keep u all posted :-)

Hi all - so it's been a couple days since Julian's incident (that i am still not 100% sure of, although all signs led to his being freaked by something) and although he is a LOT better he is still not completely well and I am not sure what to do from here. I put him in with the other birds on the second day and he seemed ok but was soon sitting on the cage floor so i moved him right back into his hospital cage where he has been now since sunday afternoon (the original move back into the other cage was just yesterday). in not knowing for sure what type of injury it was i guess i am not sure what to expect of him as far as recovery time, and although i am so happy he is so much better than sunday, i am still concerned that he is not completely recovered. in everyone's experience, does it take a few days for fully recover from an injury even if they seem to have a huge improvement over the first night?

I have had my sick or injured birds get bullied when they first go back to their cage/flight. He might need a little more time to get stronger so he can stand up for himself. I would continue with heat, good food and vitamins. I hope he continues on the road to recovery.
