The past few weeks we've gotten a new seed for my finches because they price was upped on what we used to buy. They seem to like it quite a bit, moreso than their other seed. I'm curious if anyone knows if its a good seed or not. It is Higgins Nederlands Vita Seed.
Its listed ingredients are: white millet, german millet, canary seed, red millet, steel cut oats, grey millet, sunflower chips, niger seed, flax seed, sesame seed, oyster shell, yellow corn, sugar beet pulp, dehydrated alfalfa meal, apple fiber, salt, dried egg, and rice flour..... and then of course all your calcium and vitamin additives.
In addition to the seed, I still give my birds cuttlebone and crushed hard boiled egg daily as well as fresh veggies and fruits when I can. I guess my question is, is there something this food seems to be lacking based on ingredients that I may need to feed my birds more of? My other food, I don't think contained dried egg or oyster shell, so do I still need to give my birds egg food and cuttlebone in addition to this seed? I want them to have it if they need it, but I don't want to give them too much of something either.

Re: New Seed
I don't have that specific seed, but the ingredient breakdown is pretty similar. And your egg food and veggie regimen is the same as mine. I'm kind of thinking I might be over doing it though, haha
