I have been watching this clutch of two males and two females fawns from a pair of fawns, both the parents may be split to fawn...tail markings are somewhat indicating it.
This one male has some odd markings unlike the others..the tear is different, the top of the head has a flat not complete crest and the black chest bar is up near the throat on one side and there is a dark black line under the throat. Both pictures are of him, sorry they are a bit fuzzy, they freak f I get close.

Re: Possible BB fawn...somewhat crested male Zebra
His breast bar sure is strange that is for sure. Has he fully molted into adult colours? I cant quite tell from the photos.
What does his tail bars look like? BB birds have almost toatally white tail feathers with no stripes. And of course very large black breast and cheeks that bleed further than normal cheeks would
as i am sure you know
But if he has not molted through we just have to wait and see...his tear has the irreagular shape that some of my split bc chicks have before they molt, then it usually gets more eaven.

I think he did a baby molt but not a big molt yet....I took a picture of his tail in another post it looked like a penguins, that was 8-3 after he fledged.

Toby, I have no idea exactly thefull background except his great great grandmother is a female gray and a normal lightback John sent me. The give me FSilvers, Isabel and normals/split to fawn, fawns. The little guys dad has an hour glass pattern on the tail. His mom has a argyle type pattern (She the great grandaughter to the pair John sent me) I have a beautiful young female FF that is the same age to pair him with....his one cheek patch is very wide. We need to watch our two to what they develop into.
