High pitched call from male gouldian...

One of my males (quite new) gives a high piched call all the time, dosent sound like anything I have ever heard the other males do, dosent sound like the female calls either... have you experienced this? He started doing it a couple of days ago. Other wise he seams to be doing just fine... eating, bathing, nice feathers, active and so on...
I really hope there is nothing wrong with him

If he is, its a bad copy ... dosent sound like any of the other.

Its a singel call, in a high tone... something like a heeeeeeeep. Kind of hard to describe. I have had goulds for a couple of years and never heard that before... very strange.

Looks like an Owl finch call. As long as he is as active as ever and eating / drinking the same - I would try not to worry about it overly much. Just keep an eye on him.

Ill try not to worry I guess there dosent have to be anything wrong, just scares me when they do things I dont understand... all the other sounds Im familiar with and mostly know what they meen, but this one

Im not sure... I didnt breed him myself. I didnt ask the breeder, but I have had him for a couple of months and it was just a couple of days ago he started with this...
To the best of my knowlege I would say it sounds like he is calling for someone or something... but in a strange way...

He may be making his own unique breeding call. He may have learned another species call and is using that one. My finches copy each other sometimes, almost in competition. Just like they are calling to each other.

It just sounds a bit odd, but maby he is just calling for a mate

My guess is that he was fostered by societies, and he was left with them too long and imprinted their call. I had a zebra that was with the societies too long and his call was just like that.

That sound great, then its probably nothing to worry about. He sings just like the other males its just this high pitched call in between that differs. Im so glad I asked, now I might be able to sleep tonight

Im not sure... I havent seen who calls, I would think so, but Im not sure. Maby he hasnt feelt comfortable enough before to call and just started... I have heard them call, but I cant remember if I heard him do it. I think its kind of strange to, that he just started out of the blue...
