Just checking in to see how the owls are doing? I have owls coming out my ears right now, hopefully when it cools down I will get more inquiries about them.
I got 3 fawn owls in july but really wish I had a few normal split to fawn males. I do have a nest of 7 fertile eggs and the hen is a fawn so will have some splits soon I hope. If you ever have any fawns or splits for sale or trade let me know.

Just getting caught up with this thread. The Owls I got from you are doing great. I haven't set them up for breeding for the most part, just don't have enough breeding cages right now. I did set up one pair, they have laid eggs, but they are not sitting. I think it is because the nest is a plastic box that hangs on the outside of the cage. I am going to give them a nest inside the cage, and see what happens.
I have two fawn hens of my breeding set up with two split males from a friend of mine. One pair has a bunch of eggs but not sitting, and the other pair just hatched out two babies. This pair did not feed their first clutch, so we will see how they do with this one--so far, they are feeding.
This is the friend that lost most of her birds when the a/c went out in her bird building, so when she is ready, I am going to see what she needs of my Owls. Whatever she doesn't need, I would be happy to do some swapping with you.
I got two fawn hens in the recent shipment from Canada, but I just lost one of them. She was still quite plump, clean vent, no sign of illness, fine the day before. The only thing I can figure is maybe a night fright. I found her in the morning on the bottom of the cage, right by the front wires.

Sally, I had that happen to a bird fairly recently and it is just heartbreaking.

I just was getting caught up on this thread. I've been so busy, I have not had time to read posts. Wow! I love the owls! I have been talking to Rich about shipping some of his BHPF to Dallas, but I thought it was too hot to make a safe flight. Maybe we can ship them now that it is cooler.
Great looking owls and I had the same thing happened to a few of my finches who escaped during a cage cleaning. They went between the frame of my kitchen cabinets, where there is a gap of about 2 inches wide, but three feet tall. They would get stuck and we'd have to take a spatula and prod them to scoot up or down, depending on how high or low they were in the gap. What a struggle, but we always got them safe and sound.
