That would be fantastic if your GS's take care of your Lavender eggs/babies! Having/raising birds is always an adventure in adaptive spontaneity! Can't wait to hear how this progresses! =D> =D> Have you or anyone used GS's as fosters?

This will be the first time, but our Society's already have five eggs. So, we thought we had to try, since our GS hen has wanted to incubate so much, watching the other GS pair incubate and hatch three clutches.

Update: The Lavender eggs I put in with the GS hen and her own egg, are now gone and I have a hatchling that may be a GS, but as it grows more and more, It continues to look like a fuzz ball, whereas, my GS hatchling from the previous clutch were more stringy hairs and small fuzz, but not so dark and not so fuzzy. I am still wondering if this hatchling is a Lavender baby. Hmmm. We'll have to wait to see in about two weeks. [-X Oh, the waiting.... [-o<

Sorry all. I forgot about the thread. The hatchling is a GS and not a Lavender, but my Lavenders are actually incubating another clutch. So, here's praying. The GS pic of the fledge is on another thread. :D

I'm excited to hear your lavenders have laid another clutch! Good luck with this one! They must be one of the breeds that are difficult to breed in captivity? They are so beautiful i wish you lots of luck with this clutch!

UPDATE: Today is the first day I start watching my Lavender nest for hatchlings. I am not sure exactly when she started incubating, but I estimated some time between the 17th to the 20th, as the due date for hatching. Right now, she does not leave the nest at all, so I'm wondering if some have hatched. Here's praying for a successful clutch. [-o< [-o<
